Socio-economic Impact Assessment of the proposed upgrade to Victoria Road through Rozelle and Drummoyne for the RTA.
Situation: The RTA plans to upgrade Victoria Road to improve travel times, particularly for bus passengers along this busy arterial in Sydney. The proposal includes a second bridge across Iron Cove.
Action:- In conjunction with Wakefield Planning, RM Planning designed and implemented surveys of local land uses, bus users and operators of commercial precincts in the vicinity of this route.
- Key social and economic concerns raised in the surveys and in a separate stakeholder consultation process were used to modify the design.
Outcome: The Socio-economic Impact Assessment was adopted in the Environmental Impact Assessment Report prepared for the RTA. The proposal has been approved by the NSW Government.
